TUBT Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 20, 2026
Last updated: October 20, 2026

The Unbroken Thread ("TUBT," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit https://tubt.org (the "Website"), subscribe to our emails, follow links to books or videos, or otherwise interact with us. It also describes choices and rights available to you.

Please read this Policy together with any cookie-consent notice displayed on the Website. Our Website primarily serves a U.S. audience, but visitors may access it from other places. We respond to applicable privacy requirements based on the relevant activities, individuals, and laws—not solely on where our advertisements are shown.

1. Who Operates This Website

The Unbroken Thread is operated as a sole proprietorship by D. David Meck, doing business as TUBT.Org.

Business mailing address: 2030 W Baseline Rd #182-4677, Phoenix, AZ, 85041, USA
Privacy email: info@tubt.org
Website: https://tubt.org

Please contact us using the privacy email above for questions or requests concerning your information. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Give Us

When you sign up for our newsletter, request information, contact us, or use any interactive features we offer, we may collect your email address, name (if you provide one), message contents, subscription preferences, and other information you voluntarily submit. If you contact us, we may retain our correspondence and related records.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Website, our hosting infrastructure and technologies that are enabled on the Website may process your IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, referring and exit pages, page URLs, page views, clicks, visit times, cookie identifiers, and similar technical and usage information. We may receive information about how visitors use our articles, bookstore, video links, search and filter tools, and subscription forms.

Website Preferences and Saved Items

Site features such as book favorites, recently viewed books, search or filter preferences, and remembered settings may use browser cookies or local storage where those features are enabled. These features may remember activity on your device; whether information is also stored on our servers depends on the feature's configuration.

Information from Other Sources

We may receive aggregated or attribution information from our analytics, email, advertising, affiliate, security, and hosting providers—for example, campaign performance, referrals, subscription status, or whether an affiliate link generated a qualifying referral. We do not receive a customer's complete Amazon order details or payment card information merely because that customer used our affiliate link.

3. How We Use Information

We process information for the following purposes, as relevant to your interactions with the Website:

  • Providing, maintaining, securing, and improving our articles, bookstore, videos page, and other Website features.
  • Operating search, filtering, saved preferences, and other requested features.
  • Processing newsletter signups, sending requested emails, and managing unsubscribe preferences.
  • Understanding website traffic, content engagement, site performance, and technical problems.
  • Measuring the performance and effectiveness of permitted advertising and affiliate referrals.
  • Displaying advertising and, where legally and platform-policy permitted, measuring or reaching prior Website visitors using advertising tools.
  • Preventing spam, fraud, misuse, and security incidents.
  • Responding to inquiries, privacy requests, legal obligations, or disputes.

We use information only as permitted by applicable law and the terms of the services we use. The availability of a particular advertising or analytics function does not mean that we use every feature offered by a provider.

4. Cookies, Pixels, and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files that websites or service providers may place on a browser. Pixels, scripts, tags, and local storage can perform related functions. Depending on the tools enabled and your choices, we may use:

Strictly Necessary Technologies

These support essential Website operation, security, spam prevention, requested preferences, and other features that cannot reasonably function without them. They may include hosting/security cookies and technologies used by Cloudflare Turnstile in our subscription forms.

Analytics Technologies

These help us understand how visitors use our pages, which articles and links receive attention, and how the Website performs. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), subject to its configuration and applicable visitor choices.

Advertising and Measurement Technologies

When enabled, Google Ads and Meta advertising tools may use cookies, device identifiers, pixels, and other signals to attribute visits or actions to advertising campaigns, measure results, and support advertising where permitted. These tools may provide information to their respective providers and may allow those providers to recognize devices across websites or services according to their own practices and your settings. We plan to implement additional advertising tracking before launching paid campaigns; the particular tools in use may change over time.

Affiliate Referral Technologies

Amazon and other merchants may use referral identifiers, cookies, or similar technology after you click an affiliate link to recognize qualifying referrals and administer their programs. The third-party site controls its own cookies and subsequent transactions.

Your Cookie Choices

Where consent is required, we will seek appropriate consent before enabling optional advertising or analytics technologies. Where applicable, you may accept, reject, or adjust nonessential technologies by using [INSERT WORKING LINK OR LABEL FOR WEBSITE COOKIE PREFERENCES CONTROL AFTER IT IS INSTALLED]. You may also clear or block cookies through your browser, although doing so can affect Website functions. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.

5. Google Analytics 4 and Google Advertising

Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to help evaluate traffic, usage patterns, events, and Website performance. Google may process device, browser, cookie, approximate-location, and interaction information under its applicable terms and privacy practices. If advertising integrations or additional Google signals are enabled, the categories of identifiers involved may expand accordingly.

Information about Google's collection and use of data on websites using Google services is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Google Ads and Advertising Measurement

When we activate Google Ads tags or conversion measurement, Google and its partners may use cookies or device identifiers to measure campaign results and, where permitted, show advertisements on Google services or third-party sites based on past interactions. We do not use Google advertiser-created remarketing audiences for religious-content categories when prohibited by Google's personalized-advertising policies. Ads may instead be delivered using eligible contextual, geographic, or Google-defined audience methods, as permitted by Google's policies.

You may manage Google ad personalization using Google My Ad Center. You can also learn about opt-out options through the Network Advertising Initiative. Browser/device settings and our applicable consent controls provide additional choices. Opting out of personalized advertising may not prevent all advertising or essential measurement.

6. Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Advertising and Retargeting

We intend to use Meta advertising technology, such as the Meta Pixel and potentially the Conversions API, for advertising measurement and, only to the extent allowed by law and Meta's rules, retargeting. When active, these technologies may collect or receive information about browser/device identifiers, website activity, page visits, interactions, and ad referrals. Meta may use the information in accordance with its Business Tools terms and privacy practices.

Important protection for religious content: Because the Website discusses faith and Bible study, page-level activity could imply sensitive interests. We do not ask visitors to declare their religious affiliation for advertising purposes, and our policy is not to create or use advertising audiences based on someone's actual or inferred religious beliefs. We will apply Meta's applicable data-source classifications, event-sharing limits, and audience restrictions, and will not knowingly send prohibited sensitive information through the Meta Pixel or Conversions API. Some events, parameters, or retargeting uses may be unavailable or prohibited for this Website.

You can review Meta's privacy practices at Meta Privacy Policy and manage advertising preferences at Meta Ad Preferences. You may also use our Website's cookie preference controls once implemented, where applicable.

7. Amazon Associates and Affiliate Links

The Unbroken Thread participates in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program that allows us to earn commissions from qualifying purchases after visitors use eligible Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Affiliate links may contain tracking identifiers that let Amazon attribute qualifying purchases or referrals to our Website. When you leave our Website for Amazon, Amazon collects and handles information under its own policies, including Amazon's Privacy Notice. We do not control Amazon's checkout, purchase data, or cookies on Amazon's websites.

Our affiliate relationship does not increase the price you pay merely because you follow our link. We may also include separate disclosures adjacent to book recommendations and other affiliate links so visitors understand the financial relationship before clicking.

8. Email Subscriptions and Brevo

If you subscribe to updates from TUBT, we use Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) to receive and manage subscription information and send communications such as new articles, videos, and recommended books. Brevo may process the email address and any other subscription details you submit, together with delivery, engagement, and unsubscribe data as supported by our settings.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in a marketing email or by contacting us. After unsubscribing, we may retain limited suppression records to respect your choice and satisfy applicable requirements. See Brevo's Privacy Policy for information about Brevo's processing.

Submitting an email to receive requested messages does not itself mean you agree to unrelated advertising uses or to our uploading your email address to advertising platforms. We will seek separate permission where required for a materially different use.

9. Hosting, Security, and Spam Prevention

Our Website runs on WordPress and uses a hosting provider (currently Hostinger) and supporting technical services. Hosting, backups, security, and performance systems may process server logs, IP addresses, device information, and request metadata as needed to deliver and secure the Website. Our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to detect automated abuse; Cloudflare may process technical information needed to perform these checks under its policies. See Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Hostinger Privacy Policy.

We use reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical measures appropriate to the information handled. However, no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe that information you provided is at risk, contact us using the details above.

10. Outbound Links and Third-Party Websites

Our pages may link to Amazon, YouTube, other publishers, and third-party websites or services. When you follow such a link, the destination provider may collect information under its own terms and privacy policy. For example, videos linked from our videos page open on YouTube, where Google's policies govern subsequent activity. We do not control third-party privacy practices and encourage you to review them before providing information.

11. Disclosure of Information

We may disclose relevant categories of information to vendors helping us operate the Website and perform the activities described here, including hosting, security, email delivery, analytics, affiliate attribution, and advertising measurement providers. Providers may act as service providers/processors or as independent businesses/controllers according to their roles and agreements.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with the law, respond to legal process, protect rights, investigate misuse, or address safety or security incidents. If the business undergoes a transfer or restructuring, relevant records may be transferred subject to applicable law.

Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell our subscriber email list for money. However, certain disclosures of cookie, device, or website-use information to advertising platforms may be treated as a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under some U.S. state privacy laws—even without a monetary payment. Where those laws apply, we provide the required opt-out rights and controls and honor valid requests and legally applicable opt-out preference signals. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of children when prohibited by applicable law.

12. Retention of Information

We keep information for no longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including security, accounting, legal compliance, and resolving disputes. Retention varies by category:

  • Newsletter records: While you are subscribed; limited unsubscribe or suppression records may remain after you leave the list.
  • Messages and privacy requests: For as long as reasonably necessary to respond, document the request, and meet applicable obligations. [CONFIRM ANY SPECIFIC RETENTION PERIOD]
  • Website and security logs: According to our host and security tools' actual retention settings. [INSERT/CONFIRM LOG RETENTION PERIOD]
  • Google Analytics data: According to the configured GA4 retention setting and applicable Google retention arrangements. [INSERT CONFIRMED GA4 USER/EVENT DATA RETENTION SETTING]
  • Advertising and affiliate data: As applicable to advertising attribution, provider settings, accounting needs, and any legal requirements. Different providers may retain data independently under their own policies.

We may keep de-identified or aggregated information longer when legally permitted.

13. Privacy Rights and How to Exercise Them

Depending on where you live and which laws apply to our activities, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information; obtain a copy of certain information; withdraw consent; and opt out of targeted advertising, certain profiling, or a sale or sharing of personal information. Some rights and exceptions vary by jurisdiction. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights that apply to you.

How to Submit a Request

Email info@tubt.org with the subject line "Privacy Request" and describe the right you want to exercise. If a privacy request form becomes available, you can also use [INSERT REQUEST-FORM URL WHEN AVAILABLE OR REMOVE THIS SENTENCE]. Please avoid sending sensitive identity documents unless we specifically request a secure verification method. We may verify your identity and may deny or limit a request when permitted by law, explaining our decision where required.

U.S. State Privacy Choices

If applicable state laws grant you the right to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, you may submit a request using the contact method above and any Website privacy-controls link designated for that purpose: [INSERT ACTUAL 'YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES' OR COOKIE SETTINGS LINK ONCE INSTALLED]. When legally required, we will recognize valid browser opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, for relevant processing. Authorized agents may submit requests where the law permits, subject to appropriate verification. If an applicable law provides an appeal right, you can request review of a denied privacy request using the same email with the subject "Privacy Appeal."

Visitors Outside the United States

Where European Economic Area, UK, or other applicable privacy laws govern our processing, additional rights and obligations may apply. The relevant legal bases may include consent for optional tracking or marketing, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Website where permitted, and compliance with legal obligations. Where those laws apply, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, obtain data portability, and complain to an appropriate supervisory authority. Transfers of information to the United States or other jurisdictions will be handled using applicable safeguards when required.

Contact for international privacy inquiries: [INSERT PRIVACY CONTACT EMAIL]. [ASSESS WHETHER AN EU/UK REPRESENTATIVE OR ADDITIONAL DISCLOSURE IS REQUIRED BEFORE ACTIVELY TARGETING THOSE MARKETS]

14. Children's Privacy

The Website is intended for a general audience interested in Bible study and related educational content; it is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without the consent or other authorization required by law. Our policy is not to conduct targeted advertising based on personal information known to belong to minors where prohibited. If you believe a child has provided personal information improperly, please contact us so we can assess and take appropriate action.

15. Sensitive Personal Information and Religious Beliefs

The Website's subject matter includes religion and faith. A person's interest in an article, book, or video does not establish their personal religious beliefs. We do not request or require visitors to identify their religion to browse. Our policy is to avoid using sensitive religious inferences to personalize ads, create restricted audiences, or transmit prohibited information to advertising services. Website analytics and advertising systems must be configured to respect those restrictions. This Policy does not authorize tracking or retargeting that Meta, Google, or applicable law prohibits.

16. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal, but there is no single universally implemented standard for responding to it. A Global Privacy Control signal may represent a legally recognized opt-out request in certain jurisdictions. Where applicable law requires recognition of qualifying opt-out signals, we will honor them through appropriate technical and procedural controls. You may also use your browser settings, our available cookie preferences, and provider advertising settings as explained above.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our Website, vendors, advertising activities, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated text here and revise the "Last updated" date. Where law requires additional notice or consent for material changes, we will provide it.
